I built a "Buy-Borrow-Die" simulator for BTC holders — would love your feedback

Hey everyone,

I've been working on a free tool to help BTC holders model the "Buy-Borrow-Die" wealth strategy.

It’s the only tool I know of that helps answer a question a lot of us have…

Which is ‘How much BTC do I need to own to retire?’.

I'm looking for feedback from the community to hopefully improve it.

What is Buy-Borrow-Die?

For those unfamiliar: it's a tax-optimization strategy where you hold appreciating assets (like Bitcoin), borrow against them for liquidity instead of selling, and eventually pass them to heirs at a stepped-up cost basis, potentially avoiding capital gains taxes entirely.

The problem is most people don't know:

- How much they can safely borrow (LTV limits)

- What Bitcoin price triggers liquidation

- Whether borrowing costs actually make sense vs. just selling

- How debt accumulates over 20 years

What the tool does:

The simulator lets you model different scenarios over 20 years:

- Set your Bitcoin holdings and current interest rates (pulls live Morpho rates by default)

- Choose how much to withdraw annually for living expenses (accounting for inflation)

- See exactly when/if your position gets liquidated

- Calculate break-even interest rates

- Model different LTV strategies (conservative vs. aggressive)

- Factor in Bitcoin appreciation assumptions (CAGR)

Why I built this:

I couldn't find a good calculator that showed the full picture. Most tools either oversimplify the math or ignore critical variables like:

- Compounding interest on debt over decades

- Liquidation triggers (most services liquidate around 86% LTV)

- Annual withdrawals that increase leverage

- The actual cost of capital vs. Bitcoin's growth rate

What I'm looking for feedback on:

1. Is this useful? Would you actually use this to plan your Bitcoin strategy?

2. What's missing? Are there scenarios or inputs you'd want to model?

3. Too complex or too simple? Is it overwhelming or not detailed enough?

4. UI/UX issues? Anything confusing or broken?

I've tested it extensively but would love to hear from people who actually employ this strategy (or are considering it).

Try it here.

It’s free.

Happy to answer questions.

All feedback welcome, positive or negative.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out
