So I was playing around with some code and I realised that I actually don't know what the best performing crypto asset is in terms of sheer % gain. I could guess, but I would probably guess wrong anyway. So I spent a bit of time coding a script that downloads and analyses historical data from any number of coins you choose, and then spits out percentage gains for each of these coins in a nice graph. You can choose any coin, pairing, date range and kline interval for the analysis so it's pretty convenient for multiple use cases. In order to test the functionality I decided run the top 10 cryptocurrencies (excluding stablecoins) and compare % gains since 2017. I really did not expect BNB to be the top gaining coin, by a longshot - just have a look at the chart below: The % gains for BNB are over 40,000% since the end of 2017. Not even dogecoin's irrational pump managed to even come close to how much BNB has gained. I find this really curious as I haven't noticed anyone mentioning this before. But anyway, the point here is not to shill BNB lol, but rather to show that the script might reveal some interesting data that you have probably not thought about. Here's a guide on how to set it up https://www.cryptomaton.org/2021/07/31/an-algorithm-to-determine-what-the-highest-performing-cryptocurrency-assets-are/ And here's a github repo if you don't need the guide: https://github.com/CyberPunkMetalHead/crypto-performance-tracker Hope you're ready to jump into some python :) [link] [comments] |
