Imagine having to exchange your free time you could use playing fun games for a second job you're not even guaranteed to be rewarded for.
I really don't think the model of possible monetization and that of fun gameplay can ever coexist. Just look at lootboxes. And with crypto games it's all about that, all about the money and the investment, and I just don't think it's possible for that not to affect the fun value of the game to the point where it just becomes mindless grinding or just flat out gambling with like gachas.
It's in the nature of these kinds of games that they're not worth the enjoyment of actually playing them, but the "reward" for when you finish playing them. That's how other games like gachas or mobas or games like overwatch function. They don't stimulate you in any meaningful way, they just numb you.
Overall, I personally don't see myself playing a crypto game ever, because gaming is one of the few things in my life I do without monetary incentive, and I want to keep it that way.
