I fell victim to a pig butchering scheme-- Don't be me.

Before yesterday, I did not know what a "pig butchering scheme" was, and turns out I'm the pig. Here's my story which is still happening as we speak. Right now, they are attempting to get another $20k to "verify my account".

I'm posting here again because I have been SHOCKED at how many folks reached out to me saying they have fallen for exactly the same scam. This is a huge problem. I was skeptical all the way through and they still got me. Don't be me. I never would have dreamed there would be entire fake exchanges that appear functional in every way.

I got some good advice to reach out to Queasy_Length_1016 a crypto theft investigator, which I've done, maybe they will help, we'll see. Either way, I'm happy that folks like this exist!

I've put locks on the credit bureau. I've contacted Coinbase to see if there's anything they can do (I transferred my crytpo assets from Coinbase to a fake exchange elsewhere). I might try law enforcement, but not sure where/how to even pursue that.

Most of all, BIG thanks to all the folks for the support. It's helped. Most of you are great people!

Last but not least, I'm doing one final hail mary attempt to get them to at least allow my $15k cashout attempt (I'm in for more than double that) with the promise of depositing $100k from my rich uncle soon. They haven't taken the bait so far, but I'm at least trying before contact ends.
