I have a friend who is a well known artist who’s work is being minted as NFTs on blockchains without their permission. What can they do to solve this issue?

There has been a lot of shit talking online about NFTs. I like the technology. It has potential. However, for the few people who have a creative reputations to maintain, there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed. I have a creative friend who has 500k+ of social media followers. They have won international awards and are a bit of a celebrity in their field. Very well respected.

Recently, they have been contacted by platforms to sell NFTs. They also have been told that people are minting and selling their work, and there is nothing they can do about it.

What are some solutions or actions this person can take to try and solve this problem? It seems like we have a long way to go.

Edit: just to clarify, this person does not want to mint NFTs.
