I hope the "Bitcoin mining climate change narrative" will go away soon. It's not a Bitcoin/finance problem, it's a global game theory power problem.

All of these articles, videos, MSM and information are saying that Bitcoin is "stealing power", "a waste of energy", "a carbon footprint" etc.

It's a trick.

The left wing media are giving us negative Bitcoin articles because people want to save the planet and clicks make money.

The right wing media are probably buying bitcoin right now.

But really, the whole narrative about Bitcoin being bad for the planet is total bullshit.

A lot of people read a headline about Bitcoin's power consumption, and automatically think it's a waste of power, but the vast majority of those people have never thought about the power consumption of any other industries.

There is a global power problem, which is essentially supply and demand. It's difficult to store and transmit power efficiently over long distances, so lots of power gets wasted. Renewable power is great.

And then regarding game theory, Bitcoin miners can move around and buy the cheapest power available. If the cost of the power goes up, they can move. A city can't move. A country can't move.

I see bitcoin as a "money battery", you can convert the power into value, which then could be used instantly anywhere in the world, and you could convert it back into power, or anything else.

Also, renewables are getting more and more efficient every year, so actually Bitcoin mining will probably advance R&D in the renewable energy sector in the future.

Furthermore, bitcoin miners could use heat as a resource.

I hope people can get over this stupid "power consumption" narrative, and I also hope that the media can get over it, because it's becoming clickbait, and a lot of people don't understand how nuanced the topic is.

I actually think that Bitcoin miners will have a huge positive impact on renewable energy. I'm preaching to the choir here I know, but it just winds me up when I see so many people misunderstanding the argument. Rant over.....
