For the past week I have been wanting to donate to the Ukrainian efforts to fend off Russiaβs invasion. I saw that they were opening multiple crypto wallets including Bitcoin and Ethereum, but I covet those two coins heavily.
Yesterday, on Twitter they officially opened their Dogecoin wallet - I have some Doge still! - so today - on my birthday - as a partial gift to myself - I donated 425.872 Dogecoin ($55) and watched the transaction confirm on a doge-chain-explorer website. Sending it cost 1 doge (13Β’). I was smiling the whole time. When it was done I shared the transaction hash with my friends who both laughed and said good job.
This is adoption. Donating to a cause I care about was easy and fun to do, and equally as important, decentralized with no middle man involved.
