I thought by now, in July of 2023 if I wanted to send Ethereum from my Coinbase account to my Reddit Vault address that I would just get my Ethereum, but no. They run on different networks, which to me is ludicrous if anyone ever expects the average Timmy to ever get into this space for anything other than making gains or losses via speculation.
Anyway, the question I have is, does Bitcoin work this way too, or if I had any Bitcoin address, I could just send Bitcoin to it and it will get there? What I believe I am asking is, is there only 1 Bitcoin network, and not a zillion of them like with Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies?
Please let me know, and thanks for your help.
