I ran a small experiment: Do people on this sub back up their price predictions? Examples/responses below.

TL;DR: Generally? No. The overwhelming majority of posts and comments - all except 1 - did not provide anything substantive. Some made jokes, some told me to fuck off, others readily admitted it was hopium. While this is a small sample size it was somewhat random. I only pursued this when they popped up as I browsed the sub, I did not seek them out or request any, but it's still mostly either from brand new or top posts.

Anyway here's the breakdown (all links are np):

ETH to $7423 end of November.

My response: "Based on?"

OP response: "Yes."

Verdict: Hopium.

I have a good feeling that DOT will hit $100 this year

My response: "Based on?"

OP response: No response.

Verdict: Hopium

“Shiba will hit $0.01 USD eventually”

My response: “Why”

Commenter asserting thread OP is correct: Some comments about utility ending in “I don't have any DD I just know what they're working on. And if the supply is continuously going down doesn't it make sense that the price will continuously go up?”

Verdict: Literally says no DD. Hopium at worst, buzz words about utility at best.

“Ethereum $10k looks. Pretty easy now.”

My response: “Based on?”

OP response: “Pure grade A hopium.”

Verdict: Admire the honesty lol.

Re: Eth “Like that it’s steadily climbing. 5k soon.”

My response: “Based on?”

OP Response: “Thinking ppl will be putting memecoins profits into btc and eth soon.” Fails to follow up when I asked for more details.

Verdict: Hopium.

[Loopring] easily deserves a spot in the top 50 - which puts my napkin math at 5$ a loopring

OP response: This one is actually substantial and is one of the only examples of someone making a real case. Way too long to post so just check it out.

Verdict: Some hopium as always, I think a lot of this is “I have the largest bag I think and am really invest in it,” but he actually attempts to make a case. Not enough IMO but a case nonetheless.

Re: Polkadot: “$150 isn’t a crazy estimate over the next few years. Stake what you have and buckle up!”

My response: “How did you get $150?”

My response: “Based on? Where are these numbers coming from?”

BTC at 66k and ETH at 4.7k and this bull run has barely started!!!

My response: General request for DD, P&L’s, anything at all to show this prediction has legs or that his past ones were correct.

I don't think bullrun is over yet. This is a healthy correction and we're going above $100k EOY
