I think Ethereum has become an elitist blockchain

PS: I'm not here to shill any coin.

But unless drastic changes take place soon, I consider Ethereum to have failed in this regard despite being the smart contract leader for so long.

This is mainly due to high and ridiculous fees. It has somewhat become an elitist network which only rich people can used, and that goes against the ethos of blockchain and decentralisation.

Case in point: I have a few tokens bought from ICOs back in 2017/2018. The projects haven't done well but I can still get a few tens of dollars (decent cash where I live) if I move them to an exchange. However, the transaction fees are higher than the value of these tokens and it makes no sense to buy ether just to transfer them. So they've effectively become worthless, and I'm sure this applies to thousands of people out there, and it keeps getting worse.

You basically can't do anything on the Ethereum network without paying these ridiculous fees.

When is this changing?
