Just a little story to share. Yesterday me and my coworked attended and internal event where our "innovation manager" was playing buzzword bingo. Basically throwing all buzzwords around she could find "AI", "intelligent factory", "blockchain technology", .. you get the idea.
After that we had a call and I ranted about how there is no application of block-chain technology besides the problem it was invented for: Bitcoin. He seemed rather interested and started asking questions. Like :
"Yeah, I heard about Bitcoin but how does it work?" ect.
I slowly ended up lecturing him for 3 hours about bitcoin and why the world needs hard money. Inflation, FIAT, Debt crisis, rising authoritarianism, the whole deal. I recently read the bitcoin standard so luckily I had the argumentation matters quite readily at hand. He then started to ask more specific questions like:
"So, if a friend wanted to convert his money under the mattress into bitcoin. How would he go about that?"
"How does a transaction take place?",
"What do I need for this to work?"
"If I wanted to use that Bitcoin to buy something, how would I do that?""How could I accept bitcoin as a payment method?"
I certainly gave him the "not your keys, not your bitcoin" talk everybody needs to hear and tried my best to explain him his options and advantages/disadvantages.
I feeling pretty proud of myself and it was great to have a good conversation like this.
