I want to start mining, no clue how, please help :)

Not sure if this type of question is posted every time here but I want to get into mining and I heard that ethereum is pretty nice so how about I take a shot. I know you need a gpu, am running vega 8 integrated gpu for now but thinking of maybe buying a 6600 xt, is that any good? I get confused by these terms hash rate, I've watched a simple tutorial on youtube showing how to setup wallet, pool and other stuff and how to mine, am confused about the whole procces and how the hell you make money out of it. Please help a noobie out, I know nothing btw. Thanks :)
