I'm sure I'll be fine. ... Is it recovering yet?" Last 15m: "I'll just HODL and pray." So that's what I did. In the trading game, I'm a smoothy wrapped in a non-ginger Philip Fry. Thanks to my vague recollection of the future, I knew the name. Someone told me it would be a game changer so I aped into 1,000 of them (which was only $1,200 ish). Time Ticks ByThe waiting was only bearable thanks to the fantasies I had floating through my head 24 hours per day. I kept on living my boring life and kept my time travelling history to myself, pretending to not only not know how much of a world changing asset Bitcoin would one day be but also that it will one day hit One Hundred Thousand United States Dollars in the year Two Thousand Twenty One. (...) The chart had what felt like tons of false starts as it stayed range bound for almost an entire year. By the time it had finally broken through my cost-basis, I had completely logged off. BTC meanwhile didn't really do a lot when I was finally in profit and I knew I had a better chance of one day ballin' out if I just kept it out of my mind. Any time I saw an article about it, I closed the window, I put the paper down, I changed the channel... anything to decrease the odds of the hamster in my head getting on its treadmill and becoming an IRL perpetual motion machine. By the time I started to pay attention again, BTC had left my cost basis in the rear view mirror and I knew the power of the #HODL would be my saving grace. "I will do nothing until I'm firmly in profit. Doing otherwise is nothing but another opportunity to F myself..." The Reveal: the Man Behind The Coin?At around the same time as I was ignoring everything crypto in a desperate attempt to safeguard my future, a time traveling leprechaun noticed me glancing at a newspaper headline: Bitcoin bubble nearing pop The leprechaun convinced me that a man would reveal himself to the world and would tell us all that he is the real Satoshi Nakamoto. I was shocked! "Whoa! You can talk! I love your outfit! What a strange, North American accent you have! Where is your pot of gold, Mr. Leprechaun?" That must have spooked the leprechaun, as he then ran away and yelled "I'm not a leprechaun, you Maniac." "What's his problem?" I said. I wasn't even inquiring about the fact that he didn't have any lucky charms to give me. Lord knows I need them, now more than ever! Am I nuts or something? What did I need his gold for anyway? I had all the BTC I could ever have wanted, especially considering the fact that it was destined for $100K in 2021. ("Upvote me!!! Me need moons!!! BTC 100K AHAHAHA" - average r/cc enthusiast) I don't know what that little guy was on, but now I've got to wonder whether he was telling the truth or not. "Is Satoshi really going to reveal himself to the world? I wonder what he looks like. Maybe he'll be my dad?" So anyway about a week went by and still no mention of Satoshi but then I caught wind of some expert in computers who had been interviewed by Wired. "Is this the guy the leprechaun was talking about?" (Turns out this interview was published like a year ago so maybe he wasn't a time traveling leprechaun and was just telling me about something that had happened already.) "The article said he's probably not Satoshi but what if they're wrong? He seems smart. He keeps telling me how stupid I am for not believing him. Maybe he can make Bitcoin better and help everybody have a better life? The Bitcoin CEO should definitely hire him!" BTC ATH Soon™"The real Bitcoin" was merely an idea at this point and the original Bitcoin was on its merry way to a new all time high. I didn't know when. I didn't know how. All I knew is that it would continue dancing up and down on the trend lines, but always in one direction: up, to the right and ... "...
