If everyone can run a node on their mobile, is decentralization finally achievable?

I read about this blockchain (Minima) that wants to support running nodes/mining on phones. From what I read, their main goal here is to achieve decentralization by removing roles that can monopolize/centralize power in a chain, like miners, block producers, and snark workers.

Does it make sense to decentralize by making it possible for all of us to become miners? I'm wondering about your thoughts on the decentralization end. I know mining itself is a problem because of the environmental impact and all that, but now I'm not sure if it's a good thing if all of us were able to mine with phones.
