If there’s one thing I’ve learned during this bear market, it’s not to spend the whole day watching the charts. Seriously, it makes a drastic impact on your mental health.

I used to spend my whole day thinking about crypto prices and spending too many hours watching the charts, finding myself glued to the screens. Watching as the numbers fluctuate, waiting for the right moment to make a move. The first and last thing I would do every day was check the market. This behavior, especially in times of market instability like a bear market, negatively impacted my mental health.

One day, I decided that something had to change and focused on improving my mental health, as well as limiting the time I spend monitoring the market. The first few days were challenging, as I was constantly reading news about crypto and I had too many temptations to constantly check the current prices. However, after a couple of weeks I started the see huge improvements in my physical and mental health.

I realized that me spending my whole day following the charts wouldn’t affect the prices at all, and that crypto would follow its own path no matter what. I’m here for the long term, always have been, but it’s easy to fall into a pattern of constantly concerning about prices and short term movements.

I occasionally check the prices, as well as the news. Although I’ve learned to do so in a regulated way so that it’s not a need, but a choice. I’ve recently started a habit of not checking the news or the charts during the whole weekends, not even once. And honestly, it feels so great.

For those who feel themselves in a similar state, remember, investing is a long-term game, taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture can help you stay focused on your long-term goals. It’s easy to fall into a pattern of unhealthy habits, such as spending too much time in front of the screen watching the charts. Doing DCA as well as limiting the time you spend checking the prices will have a huge impact on your mental as well as physical health.
