As the title implies, I has some leftover ETH in my wallet that I used before for some transactions long time ago and lately was wondering how the hell I can move them onto another chain to use it for something else as this small amount is worthless on the ETH mainnet for anything... My balance was 0.0125 (roughly 38 USD) at that time. After some research, I stumble on brydge Network (remove the url as it keep getting the post removed) that allow multi-chain swapping. Before you start ranting and saying we know all about it and blabla, I did some research first to see if they are legit and obviously read some feedbacks and reviews about them. Being 70% convinced, I took my balls in risking my 0.0125 ETH (worth 38.06 USD) to try to get on moved to polygon into WETH roughly a couple of hours (>10 hours). It took some time but I did receive my WETH on Polygon and in regards to all the existing option available as of today, I can say as a cheap ass this was the cheapest! I didn't get the totality of original 0.0125 ETH (38.06 USD) (minus gas fees obviously) but a satisfying 0.007735664225425 (22.42 USD) which given the actual "ETH gas fees" and other alternative bridges is really a F bargain. If you want to know further in depth how it works, check the Docs section on their website. If you need any support, I contacted reddit user: the_altoid_road that was more than happy to assist and answer my queries and also they do have a subreddit. tldr: Trying to transfer 0.0125 ETH without having to pay for horrendous fees, ended up paying 6.32 USD as gas fees and received around 0.00773564 WETH on polygon - Which I ended using to farm BAN on WBAN Farming @ 30 % APY Note: the whole point here is to move these leftovers of ETH for cheap to do something. On ETH mainet, I couldn't do anything with it due to the gas fees... Edit: I don't understand why people keep saying move it to an exchange to then withdraw? Moving it to an exchange required gas fees too which again cost a leg! I had only that minimum amount... and after many tries where most of the time, the gas fees ended up consuming the whole amount of ETH, this was the only option I had where I could move this small amount without burning everything and actually use the money for something... I hope this is clearer and make sense now... Check the cofounder comments for clarification Here [link] [comments] |
