The tech is secondary to financial incentive - if you think otherwise then you’re still asleep.
I used to be a wide eyed dummy jazzed about how cool the crypto space was.
I would listen to good ol’ Charles Hoskinson and drool at the premise of an Africa powered by their blockchain, institutions using decentralized science, healthcare transformed by decentralized tech that allowed patients to own their data.
I started joining DAOs because I was fascinated with strangers organizing around the world using blockchain.
I tried to help build a crypto project that I thought could galvanize a community to make real change in the world.
But I quickly learned that it’s not about any of that shit.
It’s about cold hard moneeeyyy
People who say they’re in it for the tech, and are not literally the ones building the thing have a wool pulled over their eyes.
You’re rationalizing your investments by claiming it’s about the tech. Rationalizing.
After I finally woke up from my delusion I realized that it’s all a game. The greatest permissionless game that’s ever existed. You win by having money in your pocket that used to belong to someone else.
Daddy more bucks is cosplaying a radicle mission and you’re eating it up.
But it’s not too late. If you ever see a project trying to do good things in the world, don’t just jump in because you believe in their mission. You jump in because you think you can make money.
The latter is your only option.
