I'm looking into buying a steel seed plate for my bitcoin. Why do most of them only allow you to store the first 4 characters of your word and not the whole phrase?

I have the fear of forgetting the word if that is the case. For example, if one of my words was "hardly", I would only be allowed to store "hard". At that moment, I will know the word is "hardly", but there's the possibility of me forgetting that in the long run.
