I’m looking to invest 1k in a coin

So my wife and I had a discussion and we are going to invest 1k into a coin before the year closes out. Not sure what we should invest in. We could go the safe route and do a east btc and eth split 50-50 or take a more risky approach and hit up an up and coming alt coin. Was wondering if I could get some feed back from the CC family. Any suggestions would be appreciated:) I know that the whole sector is kinda down in red these past few days hoping to get in while it’s down before the next rally happens. It feels like it could be any day now. Hope you all have a safe holiday. ????☃️
