So, my first post here on this group after a long hiatus.
I got interested in lightening payment for a project that requires micropayments ($10-100) for a service for end customers. I want to know if I can use lightening for my use case. If not, how can I make it happen regardless?
Use case
I shall call my service "Tanco", an automated service operated through an HMI (Human machine interface), which has Start, Stop button and a payment terminal.
User arrives at Tanco, wanting to use the service. The amount charged depends on how long he uses it. Currently, when the User swipes his card at payment terminal, an amount of $100 is blocked on the card. User starts the service, uses it for 20 min, and presses "stop" to stop the service. For the duration of use, $20 is debited from his card . Therefore, $20 is deducted from initial blocked amount of $100 for payment, and he is left with $80 on his card. He happily leaves.
If I were to use this with lightening instead of Visa/bank card. How will I execute this use case?
I understand, Tanco would provide me (user) with QRcode for payment when pressing start.
How can amount be blocked, as final charge only happens when pressing stop?
Can a refund be issued on the same channel?
Any suggestion/brainstorming is welcome. I wish to pull this off, making it the first of a kind in this world. It's a BIG DEAL, what I'm trying to achieve with this product. Can't reveal the true name of this product but trust me, when it's on the news, I'd return here to publish it ;)
Many many thanks!
