In 2011, a person was paid 32BTC to just hold up the sign “Stop the FED! Use Bitcoin“ in public. He possibly ended up making $1.6M from this.

This is probably one of the best Bitcoin success stories I have heard, even if its so unknown, on January 6th 2011 a person on Bitcoin Blogger paid a person 32BTC to dress up in a funny way and hold up a sign with the text “Stop the FED! Use Bitcoins“ in a busy public place. That person then stud up with the sign for 15 minutes on a rainy day, meanwhile he could inform 4 people about Bitcoin, those were all economic students. Here is how it looked:

As we know this person got 32BTC just for performing this task but on the same website of the Bitcoin Blogger the publisher listed the address of the person for some tips. Funnily you could see just in the comments how a person was giving away 1BTC as a tip. Its just funny to look back now after we knowhow much we struggle ourselves to hold one whole Bitcoin.

If we now look on the blockchain for this person we can see that he got a massive 96BTC sent to this address (15Qvts3L2ML538ybH3xP9hKrM282QS6NSL) and we can confirm that any of those were due to this event with people even sending as much as 15BTC at once.

Now the dark side of this story, obviously that person almost immediately withdrew his Bitcoin from that address, we can only hope that he held it somewhere else but as most people back then, they were happy to even make a bit profit back then off BTC and we cant blame them. No one, literally no one could have predicted how far we may come.
