In a scenario where Moons become insignificant, why do you think that may happen?

All Cryptocurrencies

As die-hard degens of r/CryptoCurrency, we are all very attached to Moons and feel extremely bullish about it. I have seen posts saying how Moons are the beginning of Web 3 revolution, and I truly believe it.

But, I started playing devil’s advocate. What would need to happen for Moons to become insignificant i.e. nobody cares about Moons, they are not adopted beyond reddit and price never sees the high that we all dream about.

At the end of the day, the significance of a token is defined by its utility-led demand. So one possible reason could be even the current utility of moons go down/away which is using it on reddit, some liquidity rewards on Sushi etc. Other possible reason would be utility never go beyond the current scope/scale and that just boxes Moons to be a reddit-friendly token. I have not lately seen any development roadmap for Moons so not sure about how utility is planned to be evolved. Last reason could be something like SEC going after Moons. I guess there could be other reasons.

What else may happen for Moons to loose their significance?
