Much is talked about the massive amounts of money in liquidations, but I generally don't see the headlines focusing on the number of players that got rekt.
I wonder how many of these are regular traders and how many are just average Joes and Janes trying their luck. Either way, one has to be really brave to leverage in such a volatile market/asset. Also I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of the person who lost $4M+ (unless this is a small % of the portfolio, of course).
As per data in Coinglass, these traders' positions add up to the amount of $378M that were liquidated in the last 24 hours. Between 4 AM and 5 AM (EST), $65M were liquidated.
The largest single liquidation order happened on Bitmex - XBTUSD, at a value of $4.53M. Per coin, liquidations happened as the following:
BTC | $152.42M |
---|---|
ETH | $110.60M |
APT | $26.00M |
I honestly had never heard of APT before. Would like to see why it was the 3rd most leveraged coin behind the two biggest dogs.
Stay safe out there, folks! Leveraging is for degenerate experienced traders.
