More and more countries target crypto as something to be regulated. I'm not scared where this is going, just uncomfortable. It was obvious, that once crypto becomes more famous, it will get regulated, just like any other way of transacting. We can argue that "the right regulations" are necessary but govs want full KYC in every transaction and every address. And as soon as they achieve that, they will ban any coins even optionally anonymous. That's where it is inevitably going.
I still have some addresses not tied to me, but even with them it is going to become more and more difficult to cash out anonymously. It was good to know that nobody knows what and how much I own. It was nice to buy something occasionally without giving any details about yourself. Unless you want to stay in less developed countries it is going to become impossible to keep that kind of comfort.
Beginners are the most vulnerable and they are usually the stash scammers focus on. As much as I understand the need to target scammers I'm not very comfortable with the increasing regulations. Especially when the hypocrisy of regulators is so obvious and when it comes to scale, the traditional institutions have much bigger impact on scams. What is your take on that?
