I get how crypto can be a currency, but I don't know if I'd want to trade in a currency which fluctuates wildly like BTC does. You'd want to avoid currency losses where possible, which makes BTC suboptimal relative to the others.
At the same time, I see people treating crypto as an asset class, but crypto isn't claim on any future revenue stream, or particular asset, so I'm having a hard time figuring out where the value derives from.
Would be grateful for any insights. I seem to be missing the boat on this.
