Inflation is not the number Government reports.

I just went through a discussion between Schiff and Breedlove, to found something I knew but never put in the same line.

Inflation is not what Government reports.

And I don't refer to the fact the price increase is for us consumers higher than what Goverment measures (some strange basket of goods that is selected) and reports. Reality is more complex and thus inflation is even more sneaky than most realize.

First inflation most talk about is the increase in prices or put different decrease of buying power of the currency in use.

The traditional definition of inflation is increase in the money supply (by creating money or more debt). One of the effects of more money/debt is increasing priced or reduced buying power but it takes time for this to happen.

But that whole mechanism hides something else that is also being stolen from us...

It is the all around increase in productivity due to automation, efficiency increase, computers and robots helping us etc. Etc.

All this automation leads to higher efficiency and productivity that SHOULD lead to price decrease or the increase of buying power.

We should expect deflation as default due to this effect.

So to keep prices stable that money/profit needs to go somewhere. And to get inflation the actual robbing has to be even bigger than reported inflation, even if the reporting would be fair (which it isn't), due to the fact it first has to offset the default deflation caused by efficiency improvents.

Goverments just never talk about this since if the people would actually know how the fiat system works we would have riots in the streets tomorrow.
