Introducing LaborDAO

LaborDAO is the the first decentralized community to support workers who want to organize, strike and collectively bargain.

Just wanted to come and share some love from LaborDAO. Back in 2018 one of the first places we learned about about Web3 was r/ethereum and r/ethfinance. Some of our team members actually started learning about crypto specifically to support workers in the global labor movement and they started with Ethereum. Now, years later that vision is finally coming to reality because the time is right for unions and DAO's have matured.

The labor movement has been at a serious disadvantage in the money game and Web3 is a turning point in that history. The recent victory at Amazon by workers at Amazon Labor Union is a perfect example of what the Labor Movement is capable of.

Those workers won their union at Amazon with less than $100k so imagine what they could do with real resources.

The problem is that many people in the labor movement, like in most industries, don't yet realize that crypto / web3 isn't some magic internet money scam that only cares about monkey and cat NFTs (Some of that stuff is cool and funny by the way).

We're here to prove that it isn't by activating a real use case to support workers who want to bargain, strike and organize. We will follow in the footsteps of UkraineDAO, AssangeDAO, and many more building a DAO that will make real change in the world and be led by its members.

P.S. Does anyone have a link to that historical article Vitalik wrote more than a decade ago about using Ethereum to support workers? We can't find it despite searching very hard. We know it exists.
