Is crypto mining still a good idea?

Hi everyone,

I recently moved into an apartment, where my electricity bill is covered by a package. No matter how much I use, I always pay the same amount. This lead me to the question, if I could start to use the free electricity in any way, perhaps by mining Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency.

What are your suggestions, guys? Is it worth the effort? I have seen some people with fancy equipment, it is worth buying such stuff? Which currency would pay off? I'm not a pro, so what would be an easy way to start?
