Hey. I'm trying to build a new full node, but finishing the initial sync is taking for-fucking-ever. The first 50% was downloaded in about 48h. Since then, my download rate is fractions of a percent per hour...
I've done the port forwarding on my firewall.
There are 20+ peers connected at various times.
I have tons of CPU (4x2Ghz)
Lots of Memory (16GB)
70+% free storage (2TB NVMe SSD)
Gobs of Bandwidth (100Mbit fibre).
I've tried banning peers (1h to 1 week) that connect but don't send blocks, Disconnecting ALL peers to try and get all new ones
A lot of peers seem to connect and not exchange any information -- is this some lame type of Denial-of-Service attack?
I've also tried manually connecting to peers I know are local (both physical location and low ping times).
So... Is there anything else I can do, short of re-downloading the blockchain as a torrent?
Thanks!
