Paul Krugman wrote some nonsense about Bitcoin yesterday in The New York Times. Nothing new there and his article isn't even worth your time to read, except for a laugh.
Now the comments section, that concerns me. It's 99% people who are using the same tired arguments about "crypto" and their ignorance really shows.
"Haha we're so early..." Is a response people may have when reading them, but this doesn't look good to me.
These people are SALTY. Many are starting to blame crypto (which they can't distinguish from BTC) for the economic ailments in the US.
I just see potential troubling times ahead if the vast majority of people think this way. As things in fiat-land get progressively worse, and bubbles start busting, they are gonna want a scapegoat.
I actually feel motivated to try and spread the good word and educate more on BTC, just to inoculate more against their own ignorance and anger.
Also to ridicule and sideline shitcoiners who bring a lot of unjustified heat on Bitcoin.
Here's the article, but seriously, skip to the comments section and see what I mean.
Anyone else with a NYT account maybe you could share another share link in the comments so more people can see it (I think there is a view limit on these).
Also drop some education in those comments and try and open a few minds?
