Leaked Documents expose Facebook

Facebook has been encouraging hateful content and political radicalization within it's userbase, this has led to people losing their lives and lively hood in countries like Myanmar , a whistleblower has bought these details to light.

Not just that, Facebook has been selling user data for ages, skimping on securely storing user data and recently been hacked with data of about 1.2 Billion accounts being leaked, this data is being sold in hacker forums for about $5000 per million users, this is a big threat to user privacy.

A decentralized Facebook alternative could counter the above issues while providing much better security and privacy for their users.

Sure for the common person seeing controversial media is entertaining and has led to Facebook's success, but with the recent senate hearings of the whistle blower, the algorithm that is feeding these controversial posts could be ripped out for a better chronological feed, this could be the perfect time for a decentralized Facebook alternative.
