The idea behind this post is twofold: first, I'd like to see how many people on this sub are using crypto for day-to-day transactions and second, gather people's opinion on how successful crypto has been so far in this regard, and what's left to do (plus any promising ventures ATM).
This is spurred from recently seeing a friend (in Romania) pay contactless for drinks using some app on his phone (it took the money out of his BNB funds). That was the first time I ever saw someone I knew use crypto for a day-to-day transaction here in Europe.
I'm originally from a heavily sanctioned south american country, and there crypto is frequently used, including for day-to-day transactions. Here in Europe, aside from my friend, I really haven't seen any usage outside of malls having BTC ATMs.
So, do you use crypto in your daily life to pay for things? What do you think is missing? What can be done to increase usage? Do you think the day will come where we can pay rent, bills, groceries, etc... just with crypto?
Remember that once upon a time, debit and credit cards were fancy tech, and atms were unheard of, and now you can use them in most places even in rural areas. Farmers in the countryside of a 3rd world country can use PayPal. Technology can reach far!
