I’m currently a 16 year old (Canadian) and I was honoured in being gifted a car (2002 jeep TJ) that’s been in my family since my birth. Unfortunately last week it was wrecked in a car accident bending the frame and likely to be written off. Is it worth buying a cheap replacement car and buying BTC with the leftovers or should I just lump sum the entire insurance payout into BTC and hold for 2 years to put towards post secondary? Or would contributing into an RESP be better?
Just trying to determine the best way to leverage an unfortunate situation to help me down the road
