Months ago I transferred my dad's XLM from my Ledger hard wallet to his Binance account but forgot to enter the memo. It got sent to a holding address and I spent weeks getting it back from Binance but eventually I filled out the asset recovery form with the correct information and it got sent back to the source address. BUT, here is the problem..
The source address is not my hard wallet and it is not my dad's XLM deposit address. According to the blockchain, the initial transaction took the XLM from my wallet, put it in an unknown Binance address and then into the holding account from there. So, now the coins are in an inaccessible Binance address that holds only our misplaced 3,800 XLM.
Is there anyone who knows anything about recovering lost coins or troubleshooting with Binance? Is the money gone forever? I've basically given up hope of seeing the coins again but any useful advice would make my life better.
TLDR: My XLM was recovered but is in an address that I have no access to.. was it stolen?
