I'm not saying anyone deserves to be stolen from and it is a crime either way. But if it soothes your nerves - the core dev that got hacked made a lot of horrible comments in the past and has a seriously twisted world view. if you argue that God is allowing the sin, so we shouldn't stop it: consider that it may very well also be God's will that we intervene. Perhaps He is allowing the attempted rape/murder to take place specifically to give you the opportunity to stop it.
