A while ago, I made this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/pkwc3d/i_believe_usa_will_take_an_active_interest_in/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
I predicted that, given the USA's history of meddling in the political affairs of Latin America, which always had an economic component, that El Salvador adopting bitcoin as legal tender was going to lead to USA government bitcoin price manipulation amongst other actions designed to destabilise the country.
I just found this article (in spanish) https://cnnespanol.cnn.com/video/nayib-bukele-reaccion-departamento-estado-eeuu-magistrados-corrupcion-redaccion-mexico/
My Spanish isn't the best any more, but it seems that the US is going to list 5 magistrates from El Salvador's Supreme Court of Justice on a list of corrupt officials. This is the kind of treatment that the US has dished out historically to officials in Russia and Cuba. Watch this space... The USA will ramp up pressure on El Salvador because of their adoption of Bitcoin. I guess it would be perfect for the US to hold them up and say "look what happens if you adopt Bitcoin as legal tender" and take no responsibility for causing it. I just hope other countries follow and adoption is quicker than the US government's ability to destabilise El Salvador.
Edit: this post went up to 15 upvotes, then in 5 minutes shot down to 6 upvotes... is this just some downvoting guy with sock puppet accounts attacking me?
