Mass adoption wouldn't care much about the technology behind a coin. It just needs to work for them, be accessible, a bit of branding, and some peer pressure. A call for more civil discussions.

All Cryptocurrencies

There are reasons why the best selling car in 2020 is a Toyota Corolla; the best selling shoe is Nike's Air Force 1 that uses a tech dated back in 1982; the best selling smartphone is of a Samsung brand; and why world's most traded currency is the USD.

I've sensed some bits of ignorance in this subreddit lately, downright to ignore what the masses are inclined to, and straight up refusing to have civil discussions. Of course this is just an anecdote, not a census, but I thought I should voice it out.

Different coins, different functions. Different crowds, different opinions.

There's a chance that the coins that will be used by the masses wouldn't even be 'the coin with the best fundamentals.' It just needs to work for that crowd, and be accessible to be mass adopted. It may not even be that coin that's in your bag.

We wanted mass adoption? We wanted a decentralized financial structure? This is a snippet of it, and it should not be a case of "Lets all have fun! No, not that way!"

It's a common phrase in this subreddit. DYOR. We should really step it up advocate the mentality to Do-Our-Own-Research instead. Make this subreddit a safe platform to have a civil peer-reviewed discussions of our DYOR, and be done with thinking in silo.

It's OK to have differing opinions, and you should not get flak for it. This IS decentralization.

Understand that the gap of knowledge is there for everyone. We have a lot of new folks coming in, and they're learning just as anyone of us had to do when we started. It's a case of seeing the same information but consuming it at different times. /r/cc is now the #1 ranked subreddit in growth per day (18,782), week (+184,795), and month (+635,073). At this rate, we'd reach 5 million members in a few months. We were once in their shoes before.

Tribal mentality is silly when we're just a tiny organism trying to make it through the universe. It's a 24 hours market at a global scale, we'd be screwed if everyone thinks the same way as we do.

"Great minds think alike (fools seldom differ)."

To newbies who needs a brief lead on DYOR, I made a brief guide some time ago on my go to sites. Ask questions. We're all learning something new every day.

To those who are keen on technology oriented discussion, you can head to /r/cryptotechnology.

Have a good weekend, everyone. Asian Team, Checking In.
