So I have finally seen the light and got a ledger to remove my coins from the cex or hot wallets.
I have backed up the seed initially onto the paper card and loaded the ledger with some coins.
I then intentionally force erased it and restored the ledger using the seed.
Before fully loading it, I obviously want to store the seed in a more robust method than paper.
I am planning to store the seed three times in three different ways to cover potential problems.
On metal washers using the bip39 number for each word. I will then seal the washers together with a nut and bolt and store it in an airtight box/container of sorts.
On an elipal with the first 4 letters of each word secured in it.
On a rollable metal plate with the whole seed etched onto it. This will then be stored in an airtight fireproof container of sorts.
This gives me three different methods of storing my seed. All of which will be hidden and then routinely checked by myself once every few months.
I am hoping this covers all bases should one rust/burn etc
Surely I canβt be the only person that does this?
What do you do and what kind of places are good to hide them in?
Thanks
