Misleading overhype vs. research

Every crypto project has their own discord and subreddit that you can join to gather more information or discuss with their members and ask questions.

These communities however will mostly shill their ideas -ideology even about the project. Like it's the next best thing, the ultimate project kinda stuff.

An example was (without naming it) a project that was supposed to run a mainstream nft market place. The community got so hyped up towards these news and the price increased steadily. Members would pull code from websites and unreleased wallet apps to prove their claim that this is gonna be mainstream adoption. The project developers would neither approve or deny these news. Community got hyped even more and people bought that stuff like crazy.

When the news broke that the marketplace would go live the project was just a backend and had nothing major to do with the marketplace.

So for weeks and months, people overhyped the project, only promoted research from one perspective, never were in doubt, not getting educated about the real purpose of the project (yet it was visible on the homepage that might have hinted that a purpose for what the community wanted it to be is not actually possible) and in the end "still believe in it" because they bought worthless bags of their currency.

Don't blindly get overhyped. A cryptos subreddit and discord will not stop telling you how great their project is when it actually is just another blockchain or layer 2 with supposedly faster transaction and AI and all that what you wanna hear.
