I just got out of the shower, so this is literally a Shower Thought. I wasn't directly thinking about Micheal Saylor's Orange Check Mark, however it is very, very similar to it.
- Remove the upvote/downvote button on social media.
- Replace it with just a single
like
button. - In order to use the like button it would cost a SAT. or perhaps any number of SATS.
It would still have the same spam/bot fighting ability as the orange check mark. It just moves the cost from a user having to register an account. To a user having to support others. * bots/spam content sucks, so people don't upvote the spam, since the spam gets no upvotes it isn't upgraded in the algo and gets showin to the world. * even if there are tons of bots, they have their power striped and can no longer influence the algo much. as in order to vote it would cost the bot account a SAT.
I initially came to this idea from thinking about how to propagate good ideas over bad ideas. My surface thinking goes, good ideas are profitable, so over time good ideas out compete bad ideas, the people who make decisions off good ideas, I'd expect to be more wealthy than those who make decisions off poor ideas. thus continuing the propagation of the better ideas. this is getting super wordy sorry if that didn't make a clear point. TLDR: create a market out of a social media timeline, good products out compete bad products.
I haven't really thought to deep about this yet, so I'm sure there are some glaring counter points. However, I've just never read or seen someone share this concept before, so I just wanted to see what other Bitcoiners thought about it.
