Over the past few months, I have encountered several clients who were victims of a variety of scams, from investment opportunities and romance to fake exchanges and websites. Initially, I treated these cases as separate entities, given their dissimilarities, until I discovered a link between some of the wallets, which led to the revelation of a more extensive scamming network.

As I delved further into the investigation, it became apparent that the scamming syndicate was highly organized, employing professionals and running several fake websites, making it challenging to bring them down. Even more alarming, they demanded users to undergo a KYC check on their websites, allowing them to obtain the victim's identity and address, making it challenging for victims to report the incidents to the police.

The scammers primarily stored their stolen cryptocurrencies as DAI and laundered them by transferring funds to secondary wallets. They have moved over $40 million USD to new wallets after their KYC accounts were identified and potentially frozen. Thankfully, with the help of the police and exchanges such as Binance, we have identified some of the culprits, and justice will be served.
