My beginner friend just got scammed

I feel this post highlights the importance of understanding, at the very least, the basics of crypto if you're invested.

My friend joined some discord for an NFT and was messaged by an "admin" who asked for his seed phrase to confirm his wallet.

This dumbass straight up gave his entire seed phrase and he lost his $200 portfolio.

It goes without saying, make sure you understand the basics of crypto. What is a seed phrase? What is it used for? Why should it be kept private?

There's so many scammers in this space and you gotta be careful.

Now my friend only lost $200. There's people investing with thousands who don't know the basics, so plssss make sure you research and have a basic understanding of security and what you're doing. Get a hardware wallet, 2FA and don't answer people who message you.
