Need help regarding Crypto scamming situation

Hi all,

First off, I know next to nothing about Crypto. I am here asking for help and information regarding a crypto scam situation involving my father. We are in Canada, if that helps.

The situation:

Apparently back in 2022 he got a call from some crypto company. Something along the lines of Smee Trade, Smi Trade, something pronounced "smee trade". They asked him if he wants to make money through crypto. They eventually got him to "invest" about $200 CAD. Since then, he doesn't remember much of what happened after. No additional calls or notifications. He literally does not remember anything except he gave them money somehow. He is not very tech savvy and English is not his first language so I can understand why he would just forget about it completely. He got "old people scammed" I guess.

Fast forward to today. He tells me he got a call from a woman in Germany saying that the crypto guys he "invested" with got shutdown by authorities due to illegal crypto mining. In her words, they used a robot that operated 24/7 to get BitCoin and that this automated mining is illegal.

She says her company is a blockchain database bank(?) and are calling anyone affected by these scammers in order to give the affected people back the funds that were made as a result of the mining. She says the money my dad gave resulted in 1.8 BitCoin which she states is equivalent to ~$51000 USD. She called him and said their company is obligated to return all of the $51000 USD to him. She says the funds will be "blacklisted" however (which I don't know what that entails). They want to return it via CryptoWallet, but she says my father needs some funds in the wallet itself in order to deposit the $51000 (he has zero). She says we can perform the transaction in parts, after his CryptoWallet is filled with $2500, she can send him half of the $51000. My father doesn't have much money and asked me to e-transfer him funds to his bank account (in the amount of $2500), to which he will fund his CryptoWallet with in order to receive the $25000.

My question is, is this all legit? I am sketched out by everything. I know nothing about what he did before all this, nothing about crypto, and nothing about any of the terminology. I thought I'd come here for some guidance and to see if anyone knows about a similar situation and shed some light on this. I tried to do some Google searches regarding this Smee Trade company, but only got articles dated from Jan 2023 and March 2023 saying there was a crypto scam takedown in Germany with Chipmixer or something? I just want to make sure he, and I for that matter, aren't getting scammed. Cause it seems too good to be true, to be honest.

EDIT: Thanks to all who replied. I figured it was too good to be true.

EDIT2: To those who are wondering if this story is real. Yes, it is. I definitely was leaning toward that is was a scam but a small part of me was naive enough to think that this might actually be how crypto depositing works. And clearly, that's not the case. Thanks again for reassuring my assumption. I have spoken to my father and told him to cease communications, and to not deposit the money.
