I keep hearing about this "never sell" viewpoint. My question is if you never plan to sell no matter what, then what is the purpose?
Sure, you may not plan on selling now and you may even plan on holding for 20 years. That's fine. But at some point you either need to sell and/or transact somehow in order to realize value.
Oh, for those that can't resist. Gold. Yes, you could have 10 gold bars. If you never sell them in your lifetime, they have provided no value to you. If you pass them to your kids and they don't sell them in their lifetimes, they provided no value to them.
BTC could be $1 million per BTC but that doesn't mean anything if that value is never used.
