Never use public wifi networks if you use your smartphone or laptop for crypto

No matter how badly you need it, if it's not a real emergency never use public wifi networks with your devices, especially if you use them to store or trade cryptocurrencies. It doesn't matter if you know the owner or if it's an open network in a hotel or a coffee shop, the problem is that anyone can connect to that network, including hackers.
Among the things you risk is that the hacker may intercept your communication with the network (everything, including sensitive data) or may install malware on your device; you probably don't want either of them.
