New to crypto - question on terminology on Kraken

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 92 Views

Hi all,

I have an account with the crypto exchange Kraken and I own some Bitcoin, Nano and Qtum.

My question is what am I actually owning, e.g., are these considered currency coin, utility token, DeFi or a security token? What is it and what is it not?

Also, from my understanding Kraken is a crypto exchange but when reading further they’re not offering a digital wallet. But by having something in Kraken, doesn’t that at the same time mean I have my crypto in a digital wallet? If not, what is the difference?

Many many thanks in advance /confusedn00b
