Not having patience destroyed my portfolio, now I am doing the opposite

Not even so long ago I invested in some smaller cap coins. If they didn't move in the first month after I bought them, I would sell them and try another one.

An illustration example (I would buy at X, sell at Y, all in a one month period)

I probably went through a dozen of different coins, they never took off. But after I sold them they sometimes did.

The same coin took off 20 days after I became impatient and sold

I became even more frustrated when I saw some coins going to the moon, a couple of weeks after I sold. Even though I am an extremely impatient person, I decided to just choose some coins and hold them as any other person would do.

It wasn't easy, because most of the time there isn't happening anything. But crypto isn't a get rich quick scheme as I learned.

And it finally paid off over the last few days. A small-cap coin that I was holding for what felt like an eternity did a 5x. I had to withstand a 50% dip, I was so inclined to sell, but luckily I didn't.

I got my initial investment out, and it feels great to just be left with the house money, riding away on the rollercoaster that is the crypto market, without having to stress about it.

I am not saying that every coin or token will eventually take off, but without patience, you aren't going to get anywhere. Being in crypto is just a damn hard mental game.
