Sent 2k$ worth of cUSD (Celo Dollar) instead of Celo to my Binance account, due to Celo wallet's poor interface with default coin to sent being cUSD (instead of none, as should be on any smart contracts platform) and me not being appropriately attentative. Tried to retrieve via Binance's https://www.binance.com/en/my/wallet/uncredited_deposit/form "Application for self-service recovery", but got "Application Rejected Reason: Unfortunately, this unlisted token cannot be retrieved. Please take note of the token and network for your next transaction as we cannot guarantee that we are able to retrieve an unlisted token.". As I understand, Binance doesn't have the code in place to retrieve the token if it's on a Celo blockchain, they probably can retrieve ERC tokens on Ethereum, but not Celo blockchain tokens. So that makes me $2000 poorer which sucks real hard.
What I would ask Binance to do is to enable users to request private key. If a user requests a private key, user maybe pays a fee and Binance sends all their tokens on that address's balance to Binance's own general wallet, as it usually leaves some inside the wallet. Then Binance waits some time, for the network to finalize transactions and then enables user to view his private key. And the deposit account changes for the user. This way users would be able to self-service any token retrievals and this way I and others in a similar situation will be able to retrieve missent tokens.
