On The Availability Of Businesses Accepting Crypto Transactions

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 83 Views

Earlier this week I had a question posed to me where the answer may not be as easy as I thought. Specifically, what's the availability of businesses accepting cryptocurrency transactions across the lower 48 states?

I found the answer to be quite elusive in the sense that it appears some major companies will accept crypto as a form of direct payment, but most small/mid-sized businesses will not. I'm also seeing a trend where the use of crypto as a form of payment is fairly limited based on the size of the city a person is trying to make the payment in.

The woman asking me the question is looking to possibly retire in Buena Vista, Colorado - home to about 4000 people. I did some research and didn't find a definitive source containing a list of businesses that accept crypto as direct payment in that town - although there may be one out there somewhere. I found a few old posts saying direct payment is not common in this town, with vendors citing volatility and transaction fees as the reasons why (All parties were trying to use BitCoin).

Has anyone else ran into this issue? Is it safe to assume that the use of crypto as a currency still has a ways to go in terms of overall acceptance in the US? Or do I just need a better source?

Any help/insights are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
