One year ago, a fellow user made a post with some observations that indicated Celsius might be insolvent. The initial reaction to the post was mainly negative, but he turned out to be right.

On June 1, 2022, fellow r/cc user r/vocatus made this post warning us all about certain signs suggesting that Celsius might be insolvent and advised people to withdraw their funds immediately. At first, it was dismissed as FUD and heavily downvoted.

Some people took the post seriously, though, and withdrew funds. Unfortunately, the post turned out to be right, and on June 13, Celsius announced they would halt all withdrawals.

This shows how important DYOR is. DYOR is not only googling on your own, but hearing arguments both for an against something, even if you don't like them. Not everything negative has to be FUD, and not everything positive has to be FOMO.

I wasn't active in the community around this time last year, and I wasn't involved in Celsius, so I heard of this post much later. Still, a good reminder that it's important to pay attention to what others have to say. You never know, it might save your portfolio one day.
